The study area is part of the Joven plain in the north of Sabzevar Khorasan Razavi province. The object of this project was identified the effect of Joveinophiolitecomplex (Gaft) in the north of Sabzevar and intrusions of chromite ores on the groundwater and  waterpollutant conditions by heavy metals specially chromium. To achieve the purpose, 22 samples was collected from groundwater in the study area and analyzed by ICP method. Resuts showed the chromium exceed of WHO standard level whereas other abundant elements in ophiolitic areas including Mn, Ni, Co was low and less than the detection. pH was >6 which shows Cr (III) may be unstable and Cr (V) is stable chromium species. Calculation of metal index using elements As, Cu, V, Cr showed the most of water resources are not suitable for drinking.
